Vietnam beckons with towering peaks, emerald-green paddies, fantastic street food, and warm locals. Join Nikon and AFAR professional photographers Joey Terrill and Charissa Fay for an epic small-group expedition that features hands-on photography mentoring and access to the latest Nikon equipment.
The expedition begins in Hanoi, a colonial city of shaded boulevards, parks, and lakes. We’ll embark on a tour of the largest covered market, Dong Xuan, getting to know the unique food culture like a local. Then take in Hanoi's cultural delights, capturing traditional and modern architecture, lively street scenes, and museums before embarking on an overnight train journey. We'll wake up to the lush valleys and majestic mountains of Sapa in the north. The photo-ops here include rice terraces, bamboo forests, local villages, and the colorful Can Cau Market. Next we move to secluded Halong Bay, flecked with sandstone islands and caves. You'll spend the night on a boat on the bay, waking up to capture the breathtaking sunrise views. A short flight brings us south to Hoi An to visit the sacred Hindu temples of My Son Sanctuary, take in the charms of the Mekong Delta, and experience a local homestay. The expedition ends in Ho Chi Minh City with a rooftop toast at sunset.
This 10-day, 9-night expedition covers Vietnam's most scenic areas, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. The diverse and exciting photography opportunities include action-packed cityscapes, rustic landscapes, food, and people. Please note that all times are approximate.
